Iron is an essential trace mineral essential for transporting oxygen, supporting energy metabolism, and aiding DNA and neurotransmitter synthesis. About 65% of the body's iron is in haemoglobin, enabling red blood cells to deliver oxygen to tissues, while 10% is stored in muscle. Iron is stored primarily in the liver, spleen and bone marrow as ferritin. Found in red meat, poultry, fish, legumes and fortified foods, iron is the world's most commonly deficient nutrient – affecting over 1.6 billion people and contributing to around half of all anaemia cases. Signs and symptoms of iron deficiency include: - Fatigue and lethargy - Decreased resistance to infection - Pale inside lower eyelid or mouth - Pale-coloured nail bed - Ridged, spoon-shaped, thin flat nails - Pale lines on stretched palm (palmar creases) - Brittle hair - Impaired cognitive and motor function - Difficulty maintaining body temperature in a cold environment. LipoCap® is a proprietary liposomal encapsulation technology to protect nutrients and deliver them directly to cells, ensuring superior absorption, stability and efficacy via its specialised freeze-drying (lyophilisation) process that preserves the integrity of active ingredients. Liposomes are microscopic spheres made of natural phospholipids that mimic human cell membranes, allowing nutrients to be absorbed more efficiently and without degradation. Dry formulations are more resistant to temperature fluctuations and microbial contamination, providing a longer shelf-life, but still with the benefits of a liposomal structure that is activated when mixed with water. LipoCap® Iron supports energy, immune health, cognitive function and red blood cell production. It is a vegan-friendly formula and does not contain any animal products.
Iron should be taken on an empty stomach, if possible. Taking iron supplements with food can decrease iron absorption due to the binding of iron in the gut by calcium, polyphenols, tannins and other dietary constituents. If iron must be taken with food to mitigate gastrointestinal side-effects, avoid taking iron at the same time as dairy, coffee, tea or cereals.

All medicines listed in our prescriptions category require a valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber. No prescription items will be processed or shipped until a valid prescription has been received and verified by our pharmacist.

How do I submit my electronic prescription?

You can send us your e-script token in one of the following ways:

  • Enter your prescription token number when adding the product to the cart
  • Forward your email e-script to [email protected]
  • Forward your SMS e-script to +61 483 913 912

# Please note that each medication you're prescribed will have its own unique token. Your e-Script token is the string of 14-20 letters and numbers underneath the QR code in your Electronic Prescription email or SMS.

How do I submit my paper prescription?

What if I don't have a prescription?

A valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber is required before we can dispense any prescription medicine. If you do not currently hold a prescription, please consult your doctor or healthcare provider to discuss your treatment options.

How long does it take for my prescription to be processed?

At Fitchs Pharmacy, we aim to ship your medicines within 1 business day of receiving a valid prescription. However, there are some things that may affect timing:

  • For paper prescriptions, your script must be received at our Perth pharmacy before we can process your order. Depending on your location, postal delivery may take 2-5 business days.
  • Electronic prescriptions can be processed immediately, provided your token number has been entered correctly. In the case of an error, our pharmacist will contact you to check details.
  • Fridge items: Medications that require refrigeration are shipped early in the week to ensure they are not held over the weekend and to maintain optimal storage. For faster delivery, we recommend selecting Team Global Express instead of Australia Post.
  • Our pharmacist may need to contact you to discuss your medicines before your prescription can be shipped. Please ensure your contact details are up to date at checkout.

How will my prescription be delivered?

Once your order is reviewed and approved by our pharmacist, it will be shipped via Australia Post or Team Global Express. Fridge items will be packed in an esky with ice to maintain the required temperature. All prescription items are sent in discreet packaging.

Can I return prescription items for a refund?

Due to the nature of prescription items, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind after they have been shipped. However, if you change your mind before your order is shipped, a refund can be issued, minus a 5% fee to cover payment processing costs.
