Sleep

Sleep support covers the everyday help people look for when nights are broken or short. Shift workers, new parents, frequent travellers and light sleepers all end up on this page. Some want a calmer bedtime routine. Others are after equipment, replacement parts or something to make a noisy room quieter.

Magnesium is the most asked for, as tablets, capsules or a powder you stir into water before bed. Our herbal supplements shelf carries traditional night-time formulas from ranges such as Herbs of Gold and BioCeuticals. Homeopathic drops suit people who prefer a very gentle option. We also look after CPAP machines, masks and accessories, including travel CPAP units for holidays and work trips.

Start with what is disrupting your nights. A pharmacist can talk through forms, timing and anything that might clash with your other medicines. Have a list ready when you book. If your machine is due for new parts, or a mask has stopped sealing, book with our CPAP service.

Frequently asked questions

Which magnesium is used for sleep support?

Magnesium glycinate is the form most people ask for at night, and it is usually gentle on the stomach. Night-time blends often add glycine or herbal ingredients, and come as capsules or a drinkable powder. Magnesium citrate is more often chosen for regularity. Check the elemental magnesium per dose, since that number varies a lot between brands.

What sleep supplements can I buy in a pharmacy?

You will find magnesium, herbal night-time formulas, homeopathic drops and multivitamin style blends on our shelves. Which one suits you depends on your routine, your other medicines and your age. Some formulas are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask our pharmacists before you start, and tell them about anything you already take daily.

Do you sell CPAP machines and masks?

Yes. We carry CPAP machines, masks in nasal, pillow and full face styles, tubing, filters and cleaning products. Travel units are available for short trips. Fit matters more than most people expect, so we can help you choose a mask by phone or by appointment. Our team also handles setup, consumables and reorders, and can refit a mask that leaks.

When should I take magnesium before bed?

Most labels suggest 30 to 60 minutes before bed, with or just after food. Powders are usually stirred into warm water. Keeping to the same time each night helps the routine stick. Strengths differ between products, so read the pack rather than copying a friend's dose. Your pharmacist can help you fit it around other medicines.

Can I take sleep supplements with my other medicines?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. Herbal ingredients can interact with blood thinners, sedatives and some mental health medicines. Ask our pharmacists to go through a full list of what you take, supplements included. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or buying for a child, please speak with us first.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
