How it works

The herbs in Astragalus 8 have been used for centuries to help people strengthen their body’s defences and restore good health. Astragalus 8 is based on an ancient Chinese therapy called Fu Zheng Pei Ben. In Chinese medicine terms Fu Zheng means to rectify and support the normal, healthy vital energy (Qi) of all body systems, while Pei Ben means to strengthen the resistance mechanisms of the body especially those relating to healthy immune function.

The scientifically proven herb Astragalus is combined with seven other potent immune system herbs including Ganoderma (Reishi), Codonopsis, Atractylodes, Shisandra, Siberian ginseng, Ligustrum and Licorice to create this modern Chinese herbal medicine.

Astragalus 8 is used to assist with colds, coughs and flu (upper respiratory tract infections), chronic fatigue, and recurrent conditions such as sore throats.

For people recovering from illness, Astragalus 8 can be taken during convalescence. It is not recommended for acute infection – while the illness is upon you – rather, Oriental Botanicals® Bactevir® would be a better option, to be followed later with Astragalus 8, for recovery and immunity building.

This year I had intermittent colds, two bouts of pneumonia and a nasty cough that would never go away. I started taking Astragalus 8 at the tail end of the last bout of pneumonia-antibiotic treatment, and since then have been breathing better, chest congestion has gone, the cough has disappeared and generally feel 'on the mend'. For two weeks I took 2 Astragalus 8 tablets twice a day, then one tablet twice a day for a week, and now in my fourth week have reduced to one tablet, once a day. In the first 2 weeks, I woke up twice with symptoms of a new cold (nasal congestion, sore throat), but thankfully, these symptoms were gone within 48 hours and never amounted to anything. Something good is going on!

All medicines listed in our prescriptions category require a valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber. No prescription items will be processed or shipped until a valid prescription has been received and verified by our pharmacist.

How do I submit my electronic prescription?

You can send us your e-script token in one of the following ways:

  • Enter your prescription token number when adding the product to the cart
  • Forward your email e-script to [email protected]
  • Forward your SMS e-script to +61 483 913 912

# Please note that each medication you're prescribed will have its own unique token. Your e-Script token is the string of 14-20 letters and numbers underneath the QR code in your Electronic Prescription email or SMS.

How do I submit my paper prescription?

What if I don't have a prescription?

A valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber is required before we can dispense any prescription medicine. If you do not currently hold a prescription, please consult your doctor or healthcare provider to discuss your treatment options.

How long does it take for my prescription to be processed?

At Fitchs Pharmacy, we aim to ship your medicines within 1 business day of receiving a valid prescription. However, there are some things that may affect timing:

  • For paper prescriptions, your script must be received at our Perth pharmacy before we can process your order. Depending on your location, postal delivery may take 2-5 business days.
  • Electronic prescriptions can be processed immediately, provided your token number has been entered correctly. In the case of an error, our pharmacist will contact you to check details.
  • Fridge items: Medications that require refrigeration are shipped early in the week to ensure they are not held over the weekend and to maintain optimal storage. For faster delivery, we recommend selecting Team Global Express instead of Australia Post.
  • Our pharmacist may need to contact you to discuss your medicines before your prescription can be shipped. Please ensure your contact details are up to date at checkout.

How will my prescription be delivered?

Once your order is reviewed and approved by our pharmacist, it will be shipped via Australia Post or Team Global Express. Fridge items will be packed in an esky with ice to maintain the required temperature. All prescription items are sent in discreet packaging.

Can I return prescription items for a refund?

Due to the nature of prescription items, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind after they have been shipped. However, if you change your mind before your order is shipped, a refund can be issued, minus a 5% fee to cover payment processing costs.
