How it works

Iron is involved in many important actions in the body, including supporting energy levels, and aiding the production of red blood cells and haemoglobin.

Did you know that women need more iron than men do? The Australian Bureau of Statistics say that 38-40% of women aged 14-50 aren’t getting the required amount of iron from their diet.1

Prevent iron deficiency

Including additional iron in the diet helps to prevent iron deficiency. Growing children, vegetarians and iron deficient pregnant and menstruating women have a greater need for iron than other people.

You consume iron when you eat red meat, chicken, eggs, fish, green leafy vegetables, lentils and grains. But if you’re not consuming those foods in adequate amounts, you may benefit from taking an iron supplement.

Iron supports energy levels

Iron helps maintain energy levels by assisting with the production of haemoglobin and red blood cells. This is vital because your cells need oxygen in order to produce energy, and oxygen is transported around the body in haemoglobin molecules within the red blood cells.

Readily absorbed iron

The form of iron in Oriental Botanicals Iron Excel (iron glycinate, also called iron bisglycinate or iron (II) glycinate) is more readily absorbed than some other forms of iron, including iron sulfate. Vitamin C is also found in this formula to assist in the absorption of iron from the diet.

Iron glycinate is generally tolerated well and is gentle on the stomach.

Prescription FAQ's

All medicines listed in our prescriptions category require a valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber. No prescription items will be processed or shipped until a valid prescription has been received and verified by our pharmacist.

How do I submit my electronic prescription?

You can send us your e-script token in one of the following ways:

  • Enter your prescription token number when adding the product to the cart
  • Forward your email e-script to [email protected]
  • Forward your SMS e-script to +61 483 913 912

# Please note that each medication you're prescribed will have its own unique token. Your e-Script token is the string of 14-20 letters and numbers underneath the QR code in your Electronic Prescription email or SMS.

How do I submit my paper prescription?

Post your original paper prescription to:

Fitchs Pharmacy
731 Hay Street Mall
Perth WA 6000

# Please note, your script must be delivered to our Online Pharmacist in Perth WA before we can process and ship your order.

What if I don't have a prescription?

A valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber is required before we can dispense any prescription medicine. If you do not currently hold a prescription, please consult your doctor or healthcare provider to discuss your treatment options.

How long does it take for my prescription to be processed?

At Fitchs Pharmacy, we aim to ship your medicines within 1 business day of receiving a valid prescription. However, there are some things that may affect timing:

  • For paper prescriptions, your script must be received at our Perth pharmacy before we can process your order. Depending on your location, postal delivery may take 2-5 business days.
  • Electronic prescriptions can be processed immediately, provided your token number has been entered correctly. In the case of an error, our pharmacist will contact you to check details.
  • Fridge items: Medications that require refrigeration are shipped early in the week to ensure they are not held over the weekend and to maintain optimal storage. For faster delivery, we recommend selecting Team Global Express instead of Australia Post.
  • Our pharmacist may need to contact you to discuss your medicines before your prescription can be shipped. Please ensure your contact details are up to date at checkout.

How will my prescription be delivered?

Once your order is reviewed and approved by our pharmacist, it will be shipped via Australia Post or Team Global Express. Fridge items will be packed in an esky with ice to maintain the required temperature. All prescription items are sent in discreet packaging.

Can I return prescription items for a refund?

Due to the nature of prescription items, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind after they have been shipped. However, if you change your mind before your order is shipped, a refund can be issued, minus a 5% fee to cover payment processing costs.

If there is a problem with your order, please contact us at [email protected]
