How it works

Turmeric has broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory effects due to its content of compounds called curcuminoids (often referred to as curcumin), which are needed in large quantities for optimal therapeutic benefit, but unfortunately are poorly absorbed.

Oriental Botanicals® Turmeric Excel™ is a high potency formula containing a clinically trialled, standardised extract called Curcumin C3 Complex® and provides a massive 750mg of curcuminoids per day when taken as directed (2 tablets/day). Turmeric Excel™ also contains piperine, a compound derived from Black Pepper that increases the bioavailability of the curcuminoids by up to 20 times, so each daily dose has equivalent effects in the body to 15,000mg of regular curcumin.

The anti-inflammatory effects of Turmeric and curcumin work in several ways, including by inhibiting inflammatory mediators such as COX-2 and 5-LOX. As a result, Oriental Botanicals® Turmeric Excel™ may be used to address a wide range of painful and inflammatory conditions. For example, it may help relieve the pain, stiffness and reduced function of mild osteoarthritis of the knee, and improve mobility and movement of the affected joint.

In addition to its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects, Oriental Botanicals® Turmeric Excel™ supports cardiovascular health and may help healthy people maintain normal cholesterol and blood lipid levels. Turmeric also has potent antioxidant properties, and has traditionally been used to enhance digestion.

Prescription FAQ's

All medicines listed in our prescriptions category require a valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber. No prescription items will be processed or shipped until a valid prescription has been received and verified by our pharmacist.

How do I submit my electronic prescription?

You can send us your e-script token in one of the following ways:

  • Enter your prescription token number when adding the product to the cart
  • Forward your email e-script to [email protected]
  • Forward your SMS e-script to +61 483 913 912

# Please note that each medication you're prescribed will have its own unique token. Your e-Script token is the string of 14-20 letters and numbers underneath the QR code in your Electronic Prescription email or SMS.

How do I submit my paper prescription?

What if I don't have a prescription?

A valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber is required before we can dispense any prescription medicine. If you do not currently hold a prescription, please consult your doctor or healthcare provider to discuss your treatment options.

How long does it take for my prescription to be processed?

At Fitchs Pharmacy, we aim to ship your medicines within 1 business day of receiving a valid prescription. However, there are some things that may affect timing:

  • For paper prescriptions, your script must be received at our Perth pharmacy before we can process your order. Depending on your location, postal delivery may take 2-5 business days.
  • Electronic prescriptions can be processed immediately, provided your token number has been entered correctly. In the case of an error, our pharmacist will contact you to check details.
  • Fridge items: Medications that require refrigeration are shipped early in the week to ensure they are not held over the weekend and to maintain optimal storage. For faster delivery, we recommend selecting Team Global Express instead of Australia Post.
  • Our pharmacist may need to contact you to discuss your medicines before your prescription can be shipped. Please ensure your contact details are up to date at checkout.

How will my prescription be delivered?

Once your order is reviewed and approved by our pharmacist, it will be shipped via Australia Post or Team Global Express. Fridge items will be packed in an esky with ice to maintain the required temperature. All prescription items are sent in discreet packaging.

Can I return prescription items for a refund?

Due to the nature of prescription items, we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind after they have been shipped. However, if you change your mind before your order is shipped, a refund can be issued, minus a 5% fee to cover payment processing costs.
