Weight Management Consultations
What it is
Weight management consultations with an endorsed nurse practitioner from Nurse Practitioner Clinics Australia (NPCA), by telehealth anywhere in Australia. The consultation starts with a health assessment: your medical history, the medicines you take, lifestyle factors and any relevant pathology results. From there you build a plan together.
Your nurse practitioner reviews your health and your history, discusses what is and is not suitable for you, and explains what a nurse practitioner can and cannot do. If something needs a GP or a specialist, they will refer you. Follow-up appointments review how you are going and keep an eye on your general health. It is a private conversation, from home.

Frequently asked questions
What does a weight management consultation involve?
A thorough health assessment covering your medical history, current medicines and any relevant pathology results, then a conversation about your goals and a plan you agree together. That may include lifestyle and nutritional guidance. Your nurse practitioner discusses what is and is not suitable for you, explains what a nurse practitioner can and cannot do, and refers you to a GP or specialist if that is what your situation needs.
Will I need blood tests?
Your nurse practitioner may request pathology to understand your overall health before recommending a plan. Pathology can be collected at any collection centre in Australia.
How often will I need follow-up appointments?
That depends on your plan. Your nurse practitioner will usually suggest regular check-ins to review how things are going, adjust the plan and keep an eye on your general health.
Is the consultation private?
Yes. Consultations are one to one by secure video or phone and are treated with the same confidentiality as an in-person appointment.
Do I need to travel to Perth?
No. Weight management consultations are delivered by telehealth and are available anywhere in Australia.
